Instruments: Living Lab approach

Future Workspaces applies a Living Lab approach in its pilots. This means that, in contrast to traditional research approaches, the experiments are performed at the customer site: employees do not have to come to a lab to experiment with new technologies, the experiment takes place in their normal work setting and as part of their normal work activities. This way, a Living Lab becomes a co-creation environment for human-centric research and innovation. (more…)

Instruments: Personality test (NEO-FFI)

neo-ffiTo test our hypothesis that personality is an important factor that determines what workspace fits a person, we use a standard personality test: the NEO-FFI test by Hogrefe. This test is a short version (60 questions – takes about 15 minutes to administer) of the test developed by Paul T. Costa, Jr. and Robert R. McCrae. The NEO-FFI provides an indication on each of the “Big Five” personality factors: extraversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness, neuroticism, and openness to experience. (more…)

Instruments: SMS your opinion, instant gratification and playful illustration

weerberichtAs a low-threshold instrument to gather feedback and stimulate a team to reflect on their working practices, we ask them to send us their opinion by SMS. Instruments: What approach to knowledge sharing fits best for your team?

This test (a presentation for use in workshops settings) helps you to reflect on what approach(es) to knowledge management and knowledge sharing fit best for your team or department. The test is an adapted version of the ‘knowledge management color test’ originally developed within the METIS project. The test, currently only available in Dutch, can be downloaded here.

Instruments: Are you ready for the new way of work?

This little test (an interactive MS Excel sheet) scans for your current personal information management strategy, and your collaboration and knowledge sharing attitude. It focuses on those aspects that are affected most by the changes brought about by new, ICT-enabled ways of working. Use this test to examine how ready you are for “the new way of work”.

Instruments: “information overload” self assessments

Information overload is often associated with uncertainty and work pressure resulting from the abundance of information people are confronted with during their daily work. Information overload therefore takes on the symptoms of work-related stress, something that one person is simply more prone to than another. When this form of stress develops, the strengths and weaknesses of your personality and your personal work style play a key role.
