Beste collega's,

Thanks for sharing. Herkenbaar verhaal.

pingback: http://marijnsomers.blogspot.com/2009/11/staying-in-touch-with-co-workers.html

I definitely can see a link here with the SharePoint MySite functionality !! This MySite could display your blog-RSS feed, twitter (or Yammer, the enterprise version, because you don't want to let your coworkers know what you had for lunch or when you are in the bathroom, or farted..;) yeah, you twitter users know what I am talking about).

Together with the information on your MySite, like contact info and the projects you are working on and such, this tool can help you stay in touch with home base!

Good when I am in the office, but what when I am the one working at a client or at home?
Now we also need something like this when we are the ones not working at our office. So how can we make this useful for the other ones?
I can definitely see something like this, an Office Communicator screensaver that displays the presence status of co-workers..This could be extended with twitter messages or facebook statusses..

Another idea is to put this on a separate page in your MySite. The previous company I worked for had the webmail on a MySite page, so an extra page there can also be useful.

And I can definitely see an Iphone app for this ;) (but Iphone app creators, please think about us poor Windows phone users as well, and port it !!)

Great contributions Mónica!
I have updated the table to reflect points b) and c). I have not updated the "online status", since for this one requires that I can see if someone is online, independent of them editing the document.

Thanks for sharing this information. I'm just wondering, given your familiarity with our company, why you didn't include Winkwaves Kenniscafe in your comparison? When discussion is key, I think Winkwaves Kenniscafe can definitely compete with the environments you mention. I hope you will include us as well!
